Another crazy weekend
I know its Thusday and i am really bad i keeping up with writing what is happening... I am trying to get better. So this weekend was super nice and relaxing weekend in Manta! On Saturday , we spent the day at the beach, at first it was not really sunny and windy but towards the end of the day it was nice but again i got burned!!! Yes i did wear sunscreen but i think it s because of one of the side effects of those horrible malaria pills that taste so bad!!! Anyways on Saturday afternoon there was a soccer game Ecuador against Argentina. SO there was no one on the beach or on the street for that matter. It was sooo funny because every time that Ecuador scored people went on the street and started screaming, there were fireworks and gunshots really funny. So without even watching the game u know the score! Anyways Ecuador won 2-0. Let me tell u after the end of the game i think every person from manta got in their car , went downtown and started honking. They call in a Carabana... I am so sad because that was the only day i did not have my camera and that was they funniest day to take pictures. Everyone was dressed in yellow, from the grand-parents to the babies. Everyone was singing, dancing, all the backs of the pickup cars were will and people were just sooo happy because they won a game and they are closer to being able to qualify to the world cup!! I have never seen something so crazy. Vladimir said that the streets were not as crazy in Athens when Greece won the Euro Cup so can u imagine how crazy it was in this little city of Manta? Hahahahhaha the cars that were parked on the streets, people were getting on the rooftop and dancing and singing the ecuadorian soccer theme song!! Hahhahah there were this 2 girls that were something like 8, were dancing so well!!! I was a little jealous!!! So yeah that was 2 crazy hours of me laughing my head off and being in shot!!! EVERYONE WAS GOING CRAZY!!!! Anyways that evening we went to a CHIVA but it was a little boring and we were all really tired but the only good thing is that at the end there were all the beauty queens of ecuador, so i got to c miss Ecuador ,she was pretty and they were all sooo skinny!!!!
On sunday, we went to the country, were one of the aiesecer (Richard) has a house!! I was very nice and the scenery was great. We were 14 ppl in one pickup car.. Yes i sat in the front and had my seatbelt on!! But man it was really hilarious . I took some pic and promise they will be up very soon!!!
Richard´s house in the some small forest, were there was a pig, chickens, roaster, and a whole bunch of other random animals. To get to his house we had to go over some sketchy bridge that was moving ... hahahah it was quite fun though!! He lives beside a river and the color of the river was cafe au lait!!! i have never seen a river that color but according to them it was very clean and nice!!! They all swam but I and Luke the other trainee decided not to swim and just watch them have fun!!! We had lunch at this outside grill, i ate chichen and rice for 1$50 it was ok and then there was this DJ playing and so everyone was dancing!!! Good times. After that we all got in the car and went back to Manta, yet this ride back was hilarious, Lili was sitting beside me and she sang the whole way back. Lili is one of the best dancer i have seen so far here in Ecuador. Anyways what was really funny is that at one point there was this good merengue or salsa song on the radio, that everyone liked, Richard stopped the car at the gas station, they all got out and started dancing. Can u believe it started dancing in the middle of nowhere. Hilarious i was laughing my head off. After that we dropped everyone home, and spent the rest of the night watching random spanish TV shows. Man am I missing cable and english shows. Some of the aiesecers here have cable and one of them is also upsest with the OC, so he is filling me in on what is happening, I am so jealous I cannot c it!!! Well the rest of the week has been regular, trying to match these traineeships but no one wants to come here, I am quite sad. English classes are going well, i enjoy teaching, they are quite funny. Apart from that we have a trainee integration day this weekend, i m the OCP hehehehhehe and a mini Global Village yum yum i m sure the food will be great. Well that is pretty much all i can think about right now!!! Oh yes yesterday, there was a soccer game Ecuador against Colombia, let me tell u, soccer for them is like a religion at that time everyone stops working and they all go watch the game, and yes it was quite sad we lost 3-0, so most people decided not to go to class hahhahahha quite hilarious!!!
